ENKI TODAY: Today parents and teachers
in Homeschools, Charter Schools, and Independent Elementary Schools
are drawing from Enki Education to enrich and expand their progams.
Unfortunately, due to the current economic climate, our full Enki
elementary schools have had to close or substantially restructure.
However, we continue to work with individuals and groups from across
the US and Canada, from Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America,
to bring the Enki approach into homeschools and to start independent
and charter schools. We are hopeful that funding will open up again
as the global economy stabilizes, enabling new schools to undertake
the Enki approach.
ENKI AT A GLANCE:
Get a quick and colorful glimpse of the core elements of our program
and then tour the topics below for more detailed information.
APPROACH: What is Developmental-Immersion Mastery? Learn
about our philosophy and how in unfolds in the classroom.
In the Enki approach there are certain core threads that underlie
all we do. These form the scaffolding on which all else is built.
Whether we are working with five year olds or fifteen year olds,
whether studying painting or science, whether we are refining old
techniques or exploring new ones, this scaffolding is our base.
DAY IN
THE LIFE: What actually happens in the classroom? How
does the philosophy unfold in day to day life? Visit with us in
several classrooms at different times of the day. Experience living
moments in different subjects. Glimpse the different techniques
used with different ages.
CONTENT AREAS:
This section describes each of the content areas, from science
to painting, and the underlying approach to teaching them in all
grades.
THROUGH THE
GRADES: In the course of growing up the child goes through
a series of distinct stages, like the metamorphic process of a caterpillar
becoming a butterfly. Careful attention to the challenges and opportunities
unique to each stage guide our choices of both curricular content
and teaching method. In this section you can follow a child as he
grows through our curriculum.
THE SCHOOL
COMMUNITY: Community is the human ecosystem. Therefore,
in the Enki approach great care is given to developing a safe and
stable community within each class and within the whole school.
This includes an active and ongoing relationship with each of the
families that make up the larger school community.

practiced and mastered at each grade level kindergarten through
