CRAFTS AND CREATION

The human hand and our ability to create both the things we need and things we dream, are gifts unique to man. Our culture and heritage are passed along, in great part, through the things we make. The Enki crafts and handwork curriculum offers many projects, for use in both Homeschool and Classroom programs, geared to helping the child experience the world through his hands, and develop the skills to create his dreams.

The cyclic activity of creating is also part of building a “class or family culture.” We encourage each group to choose certain seasonal crafts that will be done every year, affirming the cyclic processes of nature and our appreciation of them. To make it possible for each family member to participate at his own level, and so that a given class can grow with the activities, several versions of the same basic craft are included in different books, each at an ever increasing level of difficulty.
