Learning
through Movement:
Seasons and Skills – Grade One
 |
This
Grade One collection of movement activities continues on from the Kindergarten
collection, adding in many academic activities and work with beanbags, copper
rods, and jump ropes. It, too, is designed to support both adult and child as
they explore nourishing, meaningful, and fun activity, including many ways to
experience and celebrate the seasons. From there, it goes on to help the children
experience academic concepts through movement. All of this happens in the context
of nourishing and integrating the senses so the child's neurological integration can
support his learning and wellbeing.
Included in this collection are: a CD of 92 songs, running an hour and a half
; a 30 minute DVD with demonstrations of the basic movements and their terminology
and samples of children doing the activities; and well over 150 written activities
which include both sheet music and movement instructions.
